What is GameSynd all about?
GameSynd is a place for gamers to discover, rate, and share content from the far reaches of the gaming web. Get the latest video game news with insider gaming tips and expert reviews from the top gamer blogs and podcasts. There are no editors here at GameSynd — we simply provide a place where people can collectively determine the quality of content and provide feedback to our group of premiere publishers who strive to bring you the best in videogame news.

Is registration to Game Synd free?
Yes. Viewing and using GameSynd is absolutely free and open to everyone. Consult our Terms Of Use and/or Privacy Policy for more information.
Is it ok to have more than one account on GameSynd?
No. To protect the integrity of the system, our policy is one person, one account. This is to help prevent users from artificially inflating GameSynd ratings, which is explicitly against our Terms of Use.
Does my GameSynd account give me access to all sister sites of the EPN?
No, at this time you must register for each site under the EPN group individually.
I want to change my user name, how do I do that?
First make sure the new username you want is not already in use. Then you can request a change to your user name by contacting info@the-epn.com. Make sure to email us from the email address associated with your GameSynd account.
I ‘ve lost or forgotten my Username/Password. How do I get it back?
Go to the Forgot Password page, enter the email address you registered with and you will receive an email with your login info.
How do I update my account information?
Click on the “edit profile” link next to your member name at the top of the page and you can edit your profile.
How do I change my email address?
You can change your email address in the Email settings in your Profile.
How do I delete my account?
Send an email to info@the-epn.com requesting the deletion of your account. Your request must come from the same email address linked to your account.
Comments
Is it ok to put my website link as a signature in comments?
No, it is not okay to advertise anything of any kind in the comments section. Please keep your comments on-topic to the story you’re currently on. Any irrelevant links, spam, etc. could result in an account ban for the offending user.
I don’t see my comment. Where did it go?
You should see your comment immediately after posting it to the site. If you go back to the page and don’t see it, hit reload since it may take up to 60 seconds to be saved.
Note that any comment that is in violation of Affinitive’s TOS will be removed without any prior warning or notice.
Rating & Promotion
What is the GameSynd rating?
The GameSynd rating is based on a five star system. The rating is a real-time indicator of an item’s impact and value and you play a major role. The position of a story on GameSynd will rise or fall based on a balance of the average rating and number of users who have rated a particular item.
How do I rate a story?
Simply register or sign into your existing GameSynd account and you will be allowed all rating and commenting privileges. Comments must adhere to the Terms of Service of the site as they relate to obscenity, copyright issues, and all the rest.
How do I find items a user rated and/or commented on?
Whenever a user rates or comments on a submission the activity is bookmarked and stored within their profile. To visit the profile of another person, click on their icon anywhere on the site.
How many ratings does it take to promote or remove a story?
The promotion of stories is managed by an algorithm developed by Affinitive. There is no hard number of ratings to promote or remove a story. It’s based on a sliding scale that takes several factors into consideration, such as number of ratings, time of day, average score, etc.
There are stories with hundreds of ratings. Why are they not promoted from the homepage?
All stories spend a maximum of 24 hours on the homepage. If a story begins to slow down in frequency ratings it will be surpassed by breaking items so that the homepage never gets stale with old news.
Privacy & Abuse
Can other users see my personal information?
Upon registration, you will be able to show or hide any of your personal information such as age, location, etc. You can remain as anonymous as you want.
How do I report a problem, bug, or abuse?
If you experience a technical error or want to report a user who is in breach of the Terms And Conditions of the site, please send us an email at info@the-epn.com. Your detailed concerns and recommendations are critically important to us.
Why did you delete my account and remove my history?
Affinitive takes a firm stance against users who violate our Terms of Use. This is in order to protect the integrity of our system for the good of our community. Example violations include spamming, hate speech, pornography, etc. If the abuse was severe enough, then it will warrant an account removal.
